Coldstone and Michael's kitchen

Good morning and Happy Sunday everyone!

Thanks for the great response to our last Coffee Friday! It was a lot of fun! I am also so thankful to have your "get well" wishes and prayers for my daughter... I will tell you more about what we are testing once we get the results....

I wanted to share some pics with you... Last night hubby, our girl, and I went on a date to Coldstone... Hubby had "chocolate devotion" and I had "cheesecake fantasy" ... I think I should've had the chocolate devotion one... it looked really good... but at least the cheesecake fantasy had strawberries and blueberries so I could share those with our daughter, it was so much fun!

Here is a picture of hubby giving her some chocolate ice cream:

Looks cute, doesn't it? well, that is just because I couldn't get the picture right after this... Natalia spit it all out, it seems she didn't like "chocolate ice cream" .... it's not a big deal.... As I don't want her to eat too much sweets but it was funny though! I thought she would love chocolate ice cream, I should've known better, since she loves chewing celery and eating broccoli, carrots, zucchini, etc... I guess I should not ruin that!

Something else I am very happy about... is our new follower Michael... He sent me an e-mail because he wants to be part of our Coffee Friday feature... he grabbed "The Coffee Shop" button and his blog is just DELICIOUS, his latest posts are all related to chocolate and I am sure you can't resist that! So, go stop by his blog, you will not regret it ... "Michael's Kitchen"

Ok... I have to get ready because it's getting late for church... Hubby is preaching today :D

My Valentine's

Last year hubby surprised me for Valentine's...  We went to one of his aunt's house supposedly to have coffee and cake with them, only when we got there they gave me the local newspaper to see an "article" and my surprise was that in the newspaper there was a picture of hubby where he said the plans for Valentine's... and how he had arranged some "family members" to babysit for us.... Only then I understood we weren't really going to stay with his aunt... and we went to a very nice place for dinner, just the two of us... it was really cool

This year I had no idea we were planning on doing anything... But yesterday... you know, I cleaned the house and did whatever I always have to do here... and then he asked me if I wanted to go anywhere... I told him I just wanted to go for a drive because I've been home for too long with either my girl or me being sick.... He asked me if I'd like to go to the house of a couple of friends who just had their baby and I told him it would be nice to stop by, (they live far so I had to make sure I carried enough stuff for our daughter since we were going to be away for a while), hubby didn't seem to be in a hurry at all... and we left home at 4, then hubby took another road and we ended up at the house of another couple, who are our best friends, once we turned into the road that goes to their house I said: "Are we going to A and J's? he really made a face like "oops" and he laughed... he said: "Oh! my! what am I doing? we were going to Jess and Josh!? oh! well... we are here so let's stop by and say hi... I truly believed he made a mistake... I mean... we hang out and talk so much about A and J that I thought he just had them on his mind and made the mistake of driving to their house... once we got there I said... sorry we didn't call... we are here by mistake... so I started telling them how hubby drove to their house instead of the other friends' ... they were smiling and hubby said: "Paloma, they are babysitting for us! Let's go" HUH??? Just like that? I had everything that was needed for our daughter so it was fine but I was really really surprised, my friends were part of it all along of course! Hubby went to the car to get our girl's bag.... I was very excited and said bye to them I had no clue what we were going to do... Once I got to the car... this is what I found on my seat:

A bear, a card and a chocolate "rose" .... Once in the car I opened the card and... this is what I found:

Wow! But before going to the movies, we went for dinner... and of course ... I took pictures of that too...

We had an incredible time! And our daughter did too, when we were back she was sleeping peacefully... once we got home and to end our fabulous date... we had a cup of coffee...

I feel so spoiled right now!
Happy Valentine!!!

We are on a date... yes, the three of us!

Our date night was fantastic! And as romantic as it could be with a 16mo. girl as a "chaperone"... Still, the three of us had a lot of fun in Alterra (by the lake), this coffee shop is just great, the aroma, the service, the flavors, the atmosphere... everything is just so inviting and pleasant! Perfect for a date for those who love coffee! My girl started acting up when we tried to put her in a high chair, my husband was getting a little bit frustrated and annoyed by it, but leave it to mom! (we always know what to do) It had been a while since I was there (before my girl was born) so I wasn't going to let anything ruin it... I bought a slice of banana nut bread and brought some of the wooden sticks to stir the coffee to the table so she could play with, and that was it, she was as happy as she can be! I knew it would be fine, I wouldn't have stayed if she had continued being difficult, I mean... you don't want to disturb the rest of the people who are trying to enjoy a peaceful time and a cup of coffee in such a special place like Alterra! If you have never tried their coffee... you TRULY do not know what you are missing, they have coffee for EVERY TASTE, even the "pickiest" person will find something perfect for his/her taste!

Our dates are never too expensive and they are always SO MUCH FUN! You do not need too much money to have a great time if you are with the right company!  Hubby had a cup of his favorite coffee.... "El Salvador" which is a VERY VERY strong roast! You should see him right now as I type, he is not only VERY awake but he is looking for something to do! so hyper!  he also had a bar of milk chocolate, in my case I had a large mocha! it was so good! and a bar of dark chocolate... and there we were, the three of us! Enjoying our date... love was in the air! Hubby and I value our time on our own... but we also know that having children does not mean that " the fun is gone"  Our love for her strengthens our love for each other... so the date tonight was a date of 3 and it was the perfect date!

A bar of chocolate goes great with coffee

"El Salvador" For those who enjoy strong coffee!

What a wonderful date it was!

Date night!... with a toddler!

Hello dear coffee lovers! How is your weekend going? Mine is going pretty well... playing online and not doing much of anything else... Even moms deserve a lazy Saturday once in a while, don't we? Hubby said he is taking me to my favorite Coffee Shop (my favorite one is this one, where I write and I keep in touch with you ... followers, readers or stop by"ers") but let's say my favorite outside of the virtual world... it's a coffee shop in front of a beautiful lake (Lake Michigan)... I just love the coffee there and its location is perfect for a nice date! This date I am talking about will not be too romantic, because our daughter is coming with us... but it will definitely be fun! What about you? What are you doing this weekend? Share it with us!
