Tuesday of Quotes - It's Fall!

First of all let me ask you... what's your favorite thing about Fall? Share with me!

I've been loving this beginning of Fall... I wish I could see the colors I used to see in Wisconsin... scenes like these were my "everyday" during fall when I lived there...

My oldest when she was 2 ... She was so little! aw! I miss that!

Anyway... So... I know I won't get that here in Texas, but I am just happy that the weather is gorgeous! It's been so beautiful outside and we're taking a good break from the unbearable heat... :) Right now it's 63 degrees outside and we'll reach 81 at the hottest point of the day... so... that's not too bad!

Inspired by the "fall theme" I thought I'd share a few "Fall Quotes"... in case you are enjoying fall in a place like Wisconsin... soak it all in and be thankful for such beauty! And if you are feeling a little nostalgic like me, from not being able to see the fall colors, well, read these quotes to bring fall into your heart!

“Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile.”
William Cullen Bryant

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
Albert Camus

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree."
Emily Bronte

"Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn."
Elizabeth Lawrence

“How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.”
John Burroughs

I hope you liked today's quotes! Have a blessed day!

Support your local Coffee Shop

And talking about "Coffee Shops" we all know the big chains, which of course we love and enjoy... wait, wait... Let me interrupt myself to tell you that  you HAVE to check out the wonderful post of my friend Morgan , who won this month's giveaway here in the coffee Shop ($25 dollar Starbucks card), check out how she used it! Thanks for blogging about it Morgan! I am glad you and your boys treated yourselves! She is a great blogger and I love her sense of humor and creativity! So you TRULY have to stop by her blog!

Back to my original idea... I was saying that we can all enjoy a cup of coffee... you know... from Starbucks and big chains like that... but let's not forget about our local restaurants, coffee shops, and businesses in general, let's try to show some support! You might find your self pleasantly surprised like I just did last night when I went to enjoy a cup of coffee at Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. it is not only in a great location (Bayview), the whole concept of the place is really attractive! I predict a great and even more successful future to this (still small) Coffee Shop! The place is really clean, loved the style and decor, coffee was excellent (and many times roasted in front of you!) and who doesn't like to be welcomed with a big happy smile? I know I do... Anodyne (at least last night when we were there) has a very nice, active and dynamic girl who seems happy to greet you!

I wish I could've taken more pictures, but my girl (who came with us) was acting up... and my camera was acting up too! My poor camera is dying! So it is time to get a new one (hopefully soon!) here are some of the pictures I took in Anodyne (I wish I had more!):

Their coffee

Their coffee roaster
One of their cute cookies!

So, go ahead ... and support your local Coffee Shop!  And do not forget about our Coffee Friday

Great Lakes Barista Competition! - 2010

For those of us who love coffee, coffee shops, coffee art and having fun, it is important to stay updated regarding the events that involve any or all of the above! And in this case, Milwaukee will have the great honor to host the 2010 Great Lakes Barista Competition which will take place on March 12th to March 14th at Milwaukee’s Discovery World Museum!

Alterra (my favorite coffee shop) will be the host! And I am sure it will be a great event, this is an annual competition of the best baristas of the 5-state area back to Milwaukee.

This is what the competition entails:

Time: 15 mins.
Four cappuccinos
Ffour shots of espresso
Four signature drinks.

All this will be prepared in front of a panel of judges, which will consider quality, cleanliness and professionalism.

I will keep you updated in regards to this event... You can also get more info at: US Barista Championship website

Let the best one win!
